For several years, Irma Rangel has partnered with Bridge Lacrosse and given girls an option of joining the team. There is one middle school team, and two high school teams. The students in high school are separated into Varsity and Junior Varsity (JV) with about 15 players on each team.

Bianca Bacani, a 10th grade JV player, explained, “Lacrosse has taught me a lot about personal responsibility and building special relationships with my teammates. As a team, the best way we can perform our best is when we trust each other. My favorite thing about it is that I’ve gotten close to people who I never thought of even talking to and I’ve gotten opportunities that wouldn’t have been possible without lacrosse.”

“My favorite thing about lacrosse is definitely working with my team and being like a family. I really love it.” says Angelina Brierre, a 7th grader on the JV lacrosse team.

The players on all of the lacrosse teams range from ages 12 to 18. Each of the girls are able to experience how to work as a team and learn time management. The middle school team practices on Mondays and Wednesdays and the high school teams practice every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Many of the girls that start playing lacrosse stay with it most of their school years because they love being in the great environment. Bridge Lacrosse gives them amazing opportunities to attend summer camps in other states and attain scholarships. The bonds they each create with the coaches and each other is one they will remember forever.
